Below are comments from guests who have stayed at Hollyhocks.
"We loved staying at Hollyhocks it was like being in your own home. It was perfect and we could not have asked for more. There was everything you could need. Great position - within walking distance of shops and Barter Books. Hope to be back again soon."

"Karen had everything in order ready for my arrival. Hollyhocks is a lovely, immaculate house, as described in the listing. The house is fully equipped with everything you may need during your stay (although it was just me there I could see that Karen has catered very well for families too). The house is in a great location, within walking distance to the town centre and has a Coop shop opposite. There was nothing that I would have required that Karen hadn't already provided. The bed was comfortable, the furniture was similar to what I have myself and all in all I felt very much at home. Karen has clear instructions available for you on how to use the central heating etc. Everything a guest may require has been taken into consideration. The secluded garden area was marvellous, so private and I enjoyed feeding the birds with the food that was provided! I would recommend Hollyhocks to anybody looking to rent in this area! Thanks again Karen."

"This is a really lovely little house, fantastic value, and we had a great week in Alnwick. The Co-op next door was very useful, and everything in central Alnwick (castle, Barter Books, amazing gardens) was in walking distance, even for our 2 year old (mostly). The house was spotless, quiet at night, quality furniture, lots of wardrobe space, beds really comfortable, nice selection of DVDs, lots of local information, very well-equipped kitchen. The little yard gets a nice amount of sunshine, and we achieved our first ever truly relaxing holiday with children!"

"We’ve had two wonderful weeks! We visited the coast and the hills, it’s beautiful there. It was nice to stay in Hollyhocks, a cozy house with a good service for changing towels etc, after first week. Thank you very much."

"Very comfortable and well situated house. Great bus connections close by and a very easy walk into Alnwick itself. Café at Barter Books is very good and very fairly priced. Turnbull’s pies, Carlos’s Fish and Chips and seasalt truffles from the Chocolate Spa!!"

"Enjoyed a great week. Visited Alnwick Gardens, Lindisfarne, Craster, Seahouses and Cragside. It was lovely to be able to return to Hollyhocks – a very comfortable cottage with everything you need for a self-catering holiday. Enjoyed a good meal at The Treehouse – very unique! All in all a good week of walking, sightseeing and relaxing."

"Excellent stay – too short! Comfortable, well equipped property. Enjoyed the pictures. Lovely visits to Cragside, Alnwick Garden, Barter Books and coastal walks. Erica and Steve, Cambridge UK, Oct A very comfortable, well appointed cottage and very centrally located. The weather could have been warmer but lots to see and Alnwick excellent place to stay – good pubs and restaurants."

"We have had a lovely visit. The house is comfortable, cosy and really well equipped. It’s really handy for walking into town. We would definitely recommend Barter Books for a browse and a lovely lunch. We visited Alnmouth and had a great walk on the beach. Also, we walked along the beach from Embeleton to Low Newton and had coffee at the Ship Inn. We had a great time and will definitely be back. Thank you!"

"The cottage is great - really well equipped, clean, spacious and cosy. It's in a good location for exploring Alnwick and the surrounding area. Only a few minutes walk from Barter Books, which you must visit if you go! Karen was really helpful with directions and information about the cottage. The whole holiday experience was great from start to finish - tea, coffee, biscuits on arrival was a nice touch. I wouldn't hesitate in booking again."

"We were so pleased with Hollyhocks and our host Karen. When we told her we would be bringing our 15 month old son, she secured a travel cot and high chair for him to use, which saved us a lot worry. When we arrived, the house perfectly met our needs. The living room was large, the kitchen was well-equipped. The house is well-furnished and nicely decorated. The location was walking distance to downtown and it was incredibly convenient to have the co-op grocery store right next door."
